An Introduction
-
Not everyone gets to experience working with wood at a young age. We are teaching the younger generation how to work with wood and how to build a sucessful practice using natural and repurposed materials.
This started out of a love for waste material and the drive to turn the unwanted into a thing of desire. Initially tested by Charlie Boyden and Charlotte Barry the workshops have since grown into something special – giving youngsters an oppourtunity to learn through making.
- Our first workshop was with year four kids in a school in Shoreditch. We ran them through the stages of a design studio would take when building on a project and developing an object, then together the children developed and built homes for mini beasts from scrap and waste wood collected from various studios in East London.
