An Introduction

Not everyone gets to experience working with wood at a young age. We are teaching the younger generation how to work with wood and how to build a sucessful practice using natural and repurposed materials.

This started out of a love for waste material and the drive to turn the unwanted into a thing of desire. Initially tested by Charlie Boyden and Charlotte Barry the workshops have since grown into something special – giving youngsters an oppourtunity to learn through making.

Our first workshop was with year four kids in a school in Shoreditch. We ran them through the stages of a design studio would take when building on a project and developing an object, then together the children developed and built homes for mini beasts from scrap and waste wood collected from various studios in East London.

Since then we’ve worked with youth from across England on various workshops with                   wood and waste at the core.
Where we run our Workshops

Working with educational institutions around London, you can find us at various pop up events and museums.

Smaller group workshops are run from our Wood Shop studio based in Hackney Wick.
